Quito, July 2026.- ReciVeci® held a training workshop at the IMPAQTO La Carolina facilities, where around 50 grassroots recyclers, including senior citizens, were trained on how to use the ReciApp. The activity took place over two sessions, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, as part of the joint effort between ReciVeci and Latitud R.
During the workshop, attendees learned step-by-step how to download the ReciApp, create their recycler profile, complete their information, and understand the features the application offers. They were also taught how to register their deliveries using their personal code, use the map to connect with citizens interested in recycling, and accumulate ReciPoints to redeem for prizes.
A partnership that strengthens the inclusive digital recycling system
Since 2022, Latitud R has promoted the growth of the ReciApp as a tool to connect citizens with grassroots recyclers. As part of the 2025-2026 joint project, ReciVeci and Latitud R developed the recycler profile within the digital system, an advancement that allows grassroots recyclers to be directly included in the platform and makes their work visible within the recycling value chain.
Felipe Toledo, Country Manager for Fundación Avina, was present during the session and shared a few words with the attendees:
"May the ReciVeci experience grow and extend to other cities, to bring this inclusive recycling system to other latitudes," said Felipe Toledo, Country Manager for Fundación Avina at Latitud R.
Amalia Muriel, a grassroots recycler who participated in the workshop, also shared her experience:
"I think it's a very good work tool. I am grateful because this encourages me to keep working. It was a session for resolving questions," noted Amalia Muriel, a grassroots recycler.
One more step toward strengthening the work of grassroots recyclers
The workshop allowed participants to learn, step-by-step, all the tools that the ReciApp makes available to them to strengthen their daily work. At the end, all attendees received a certificate of attendance recognizing their participation in the training process.
