Quito, May 2026 – At ReciVeci® we celebrate every step that has allowed us to professionalize waste management in the country. That's why we're sharing the recognition awarded by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and its Enterprise Development Fund (EDF), which highlights our work carried out between May and November 2024.
This recognition acknowledges the impact we achieved during the operation of the Glass Hub by ReciVeci O-I CRIDESA. This center, which closed its doors in December 2025, became a key component in demonstrating that technical waste management is essential for a fair circular economy.
Results of the project supported by the fund
Thanks to funding from German Cooperation (KfW) and the fund's support, we were able to significantly strengthen our operational capacity:
- We acquired a hydraulic lift and specialized machinery which optimized the loading and unloading of material, improving safety and speed in glass processing.
- We hired technical staff for sorting and collection, enabling the center to manage a monthly volume of over 30 tons of recovered glass.
- We implemented traceability systems that ensured the return of thousands of bottles to the industrial production chain.
- We dignified the work of grassroots recyclers by formalizing collection routes and ensuring fair payments for collection services.

Receiving this recognition validates the work carried out by the entire team during those months. Although the Glass Hub is no longer operational, its legacy remains present in how we operate and in the lessons we apply to every new challenge today. We thank IOM for trusting our proposal and for recognizing the social and environmental impact we built during that period. We continue to move forward, transforming the future of recycling in Ecuador with the same vision.
