Last Thursday, June 26th, ReciVeci was part of Supplier's Day 2025 organized by Arcos Dorados, the franchise that operates McDonald's in Latin America and the Caribbean. The event, held at the venue of McDonald's on Orellana Avenue in Guayaquil, it brought together nearly 80 national and international suppliers to share experiences, celebrate achievements and recognize good practices that strengthen its value chain.
Lorena Gallardo, Innovation and Sustainability Manager, represented ReciVeci® on this day, which reaffirms the value of purposeful alliances. It was a space where suppliers of food, cleaning, services and waste management met to reflect on what we built together.
In the words of Gina Castagneto, National Director of Arcos Dorados Ecuador, and Jorge Franco, Supply Chain Manager, the work of suppliers has been key to the consolidation of the brand in the country. From ReciVeci we also want to thank and recognize Jorge for his eight years of commitment, wishing him the best in his new phase.
The event also included the participation of Miguel Ángel González, president of the Guayaquil Chamber of Commerce, who emphasized the fundamental role of companies and enterprises as drivers of real solutions, even in complex contexts.

For us, the most significant thing of the day was receiving the Recognition of Good Practices in Social Responsibility 2025. Beyond the award, we deeply value what it represents: McDonald's trust in our work, in our technical proposals, and in a recycling model with a tangible social impact.
At ReciVeci®, sustainability is not just a discourse: is a practice built from the ground up, together with basic recyclers, with data, coherence and commitment. This recognition confirms that real sustainability is possible when there are alliances based on trust and collective work.
A concrete example is the project we are promoting together with McDonald's and Essity, focused on the recycling of polyboard cups used in McDonald's premises. This material is recovered and marketed by basic recyclers and recyclers, and then reincorporated by Essity into its production chain to convert it into new products, like napkins that return to the same premises. This initiative not only avoids the generation of waste, but it also promotes decent incomes and recognizes the fundamental role of those who support recycling in the country.
We welcome this progress and hope to continue strengthening these efforts for more inclusive recycling, built from the ground up and with dignity.
Thanks to the entire Arcos Dorados Ecuador team for this space of encounter and trust. And special thanks to Gina Castagneto, Paola Caicedo, Verónica Vera, Daniel Arenas and Jorge Franco for believing in our work and accompanying us on this journey.
