Machachi, Ecuador — In a joint effort to transform waste management in the country, 38 volunteers from DHL Express participated in an environmental day at the composting plant in Mutare Mundo. This activity was not an isolated event, but part of the exclusive benefits of the ReciCorp ReciCorp service, to which DHL Express entrusts the integral management of its waste.
Experiences that sensitize and transform

For ReciVeci®, sustainability doesn't stop in the garbage cans. Therefore, through ReciCorp®, we design practical experiences so that the staff of allied companies are sensitized to the problem of waste. This time, the focus was on organic waste, allowing the DHL team to be directly involved in key composting processes to understand how waste is transformed into compost, returning nutrients to the soil and avoiding greenhouse gas emissions.
This day complements previous actions, such as RecitTour conducted a few months ago, where the team learned first-hand about the recycling chain and the work of basic recyclers. These direct experiences allow sustainability to stop being an abstract concept and become a palpable corporate culture.
The road to 2050
DHL Express, through its global GoGreen program, has the ambitious goal of achieving net zero emissions by 2050. At ReciVeci®, we promote this objective through technical, transparent management with social impact. By reducing the amount of waste sent to landfills and optimizing material recovery, we strengthen the circular economy of the logistics industry.
